From pleasuring themselves from child abuse images, to becoming interested in observing kids in public (thus changing their concept of social acceptability). to sharing their perversion on social media (do you not think that in itself gives them a buzz?) @MandyJane @AthenasWrench
the empathy bit - the only empathy bit - is that no-one asks to be mentally ill and to be aware that you are 'wrong', if you have the self-awareness to know you are ill, is distressing. and if you ask for help and it's not forthcoming and are living in fear of causing harm, that would be a horrible life. but sympathy with the actual paedophilia and seeking acceptance of any and all associated urges - HELL NO. and point about the consumption of images not be no harm, agree. @Ladyfat @MandyJane @AthenasWrench
Realistically most have pushed a porn habit too far for kicks it’s not an inborn attraction and neither is it a mental health issue in the like of depression or anxiety .

mental health is a largely unknown field - most responses to illness are not rooted in objective observations, but in the patient self describing. so as with dyphoria/AGP they maybe dealing with very different things. I'd imagine there are huge numbers of paedophiles that were abused themselves as children and normalising it in the sense of it becoming their own attraction, was some sort of coping respones. but given it's not everyone (nothing ever is!) there is so much to be looked at. but in no sense should the treatment or research put any child at risk. @Ladyfat @MandyJane @AthenasWrench

@AthenasWrench Percentage wise, does it differ significantly between boys and girls that have been abused and later go on to offend? I thought I read somewhere (on spinster actually) once that girls tend not to but a lot more boys do? Or am I remembering that wrong.

Also, many male abusers only make the claim that they themselves had been abused after they have been arrested and charged. If it was possible to track children who have been abused, you could get more accurate information. But unfair to the children.
However, we know that more girls are abused than boys. And that far more boys grow up to abuse children than girls do.

Locking up victims of abuse - any kind of abuse - merely for having been abused, is utterly insane. It goes beyond mere victim blaming, into the territory of outright punishing the victim for being abused.
Did you even read the thread? There is no correlation between being abused and being a paedo , if there was most paedos would be women because girls are overwhelmingly the victims of CSA.

Not that its good think. But that if you think like them... And how they treat us. About how they sterilize us and throw us in jail. Like look at femxx trafficking. The pimps dont go to jail the victims do. And HELLO we live in a male world sending males to jail will never happen. But let me explain what i said: males are saying "im only a rapist bc i was abused as a kid" and then they are actual rapists. It would make more sense to send them (the males) to juvy.
