@kura not much reason, just that telegram and email are what I primarily use for private correspondence, and I figured a telegram bot would be easier.

also yeah, too much effort for a one-time thing, but to track your application the website makes you input your id number every time and then choose your country from a long list without search, and the prospect of doing that every day for at least the next 20 days just annoyed me.

@Hyolobrika @rin have you ever used Telegram yourself? try it if you can (and want), you'll realise why
nothing even comes close to how good of a instant messaging service it is, and the clients are just that good.
(also, E2EE isn't everything, especially when it's done so poorly like in e.g. Matrix)
