Cancel culture is, it seems to me, just an evolution of chimpanzees having wars. Fortunately cancel culture is way less bloody than warring.

Note that warring is a phenomenon so far only observed in humans and chimps.

Oh, didn't know that. And ants... kinda? In any case, it's not a super common behavior, making war. But it is natural.

@nerdman @vriska Most animals are programmed not to brutalize their own species, barring certain circumstances like a lion killing a competitors cubs. Theory is since they're different envelopes containing the same genetic payload, they don't actually want to KILL their opponent, they only want to dominate them, within the hierarchy, it makes sense evolutionarily, the point of life is to spread, it wouldn't benefit it to have "friendly fire" turned on in its program settings.
