@amerika That wouldn't have happened if the man, who from the sounds of it was defending the cashier from violence, had used deadly force on both attackers. Throat punches, eye gouges, a knife if he had one, a gun if he had one, then he'd be the one walking free thanks to the self defense laws the attackers use to get away with their bullying and murder.
@amerika @Jazzy_Butts How about charging the boyfriend for illegally carrying? If he didn't illegally have the gun, the fireman would still be alive.
Also applicable.
The real question is why this woman gets away with killing someone who was stopping a crime.
Our legal system is sort of weak on this question.

I agree, but only after the second attacker picked up the gun.
The court shat the bed on this one. Technically, the woman was right to shoot in defense of her man... but he was in the process of committing a crime, so the other guy was justified too.
I would have charged her as an accessory to a felony, then felony murder.
