1812: Attempt to stab somebody, with intent to murder- Tried and found guilty by the end of the month, hung from the neck until dead

2022: Attempt to stab somebody, with intent to muder- Tried, charges lowered, given several years inprisonment (not labor, simply inprisonment, vacation with some assrape thrown in at random), and released early back into the community in the hopes the stabber becomes a doctor or inventer who makes the world a better place (he just stabs more people though)
