helping a friend of mine buy hrt and the fact that 230 euros is in terms of the ethereum network a "small" enough sum that it's taking hours to verify the transaction instead of of the 14 minutes average it supposedly should take is filling me with profound despair and rage
@AbNormal i mean, that's the worst aspect right, no one is actively doing this, no one is actively holding back this transaction from verification, it's built into the way the entire protocol works—since miners are incentivised to put transactions into the next block via fee payments, larger sums net larger payment—, AND it's built into it by the external fact that crypto as a practice is usally the market of outrageous amounts of venture capital and scam money

that's what makes me mad, that it's a consequence of "innocent" unimpeachable profit motives; i can't well fault the miners for wanting to be paid, and i can't fault venture capital in ways i don't alrteady fault it for ruining anything it fucking touches

@tarperfume @AbNormal I'm a smoothbrain, I look at this as a consequence of restrictions imposed by tyrants, I feel buying hormones would be as easy as buying a bottle of soda because why wouldn't it be? The supply is there and so is the demand, the only reason anyone has to put up with these troublesome transactions is because of tyrants making decisions for others.
