flipping through the pdfs on my phone and next to ANGELOMORPHIC CHRISTOLOGY and ANGELOMORPHIC PNEUMATOLOGY i started reading a collection of new / Old testament apocrypha, starting with the books of adam & eve, w/ my mind on sefer raziel and angelic communications of occult knowledge to adam generally, and then suddenly remembered I've never actually read the fucking Bible
@hermit in all things the serpent's tail, not the lion's face

certainly laura riding would be proud of my abhorrence of the premise of canonization
@bless I never delved into any of this stuff too far really, I know some Christian Gnostic texts in a very loose sense (as in I've never actually read them) but that's it.

But yes, this is exactly why I try to warn satanists that they're just addressing the nether half of the same damn thing. That said, since Yahweh possesses symbols so fully once he ingests them, the imprisoned psyche has no choice but to look at him regardless of what it looks at, so outside influences seeking to manifest themselves have to do so using symbols that said psyche will still perceive as being part of him.

A good example of this would be the common Gnostic conviction that the serpent in Genesis is actually Sophia trying to reach Adam.

From that perspective, someone looking to free themselves from Yahweh IS still better off looking to "Satan" at least initially, since any forces that give keys will naturally be found in that camp when interacting through the nasty membrane. Following freedom as an idea, even if you have it in your mind that "Satan represents Freedom," will lead you eventually to those who wish to free you.

@hermit one thousand percent agreed about satanism, it's so ridiculous
@bless Sure, it is, but if I had to make a choice between that and being any stripe of Christian, Muslim or Jew I'd pick Satanist every single time with no hesitation
@hermit idk gutkind pilled me into thinking certain kabbalistic ways of thinking seem to be pretty on point
@hermit plus there's no potential in satanism. by trying to heresymaxx it feels stupidly rigid. starting from quakerism and allowing myself to warp it in any direction i see fit feels way more fun
@bless @hermit > heresymaxx

im struggling to come up with a punchy line for this concept, but if you define yourself in terms of the enemy, you've not meaningfully escaped them
@bless @hermit i tried to convince mushroomfemboy of this but they didnt understand my ProgrammingPilled brain

if Y ≡ ¬X

Y is nothing more than X
@bless @hermit i wish there was a punchy way to explain it. my head isnt in the right space to ponder on it

@errante @hermit @bless I used to think Satanism was foolish until I understood it to be majority roleplay, very few satanists are serious, it's trolling through performance art, not legitimate. The few who are serious about it do have the problem though of "playing the game in the enemies home court" by opposing Christianity while being unable to escape Christianity without itself becoming meaningless.
