Calling a 35yo teacher having sex with a 16yo boy rape, totally devalues and delegitimizes the word "rape"

@Jazzy_Butts It's either they are having sex or it was rape.

The moment I see phrases like "having sex with x is rape" I have already dismissed the case unless there's actually any meaningful information that would establish what it actually is. I fucking hate journalists.

@ynnuc When I think of rape, I don't think of it as clumsy, or awkward, or embarrassing, or annoying, I think of it as violent (the only exception is if the victim is unconscious or impaired).

@ynnuc So many people call clumsy, embarrassing, awkward, or annoying encounters, "rape", and that's an insult to true victims imo

@Jazzy_Butts I agree it is. Being awkward isn't rape. It's more the intention you give to acts and how you use an environment to force something unwanted that makes an act rape. The fact I make everything awkward for example doesn't mean I raped anyone. Maybe I'm not always as aware about boundaries but that happens to everyone at some point and calling "not liking something" rape is just silly.
