They DON'T make em like this anymore, so much MONEY back then for extras, sets, cars, costumes, ALLLL OF IT, everything is cg now and it SUCKS
@Jazzy_Butts I feel like the mass CGI use for literally everything HAS to take the actors out of it. I was looking at a random blog that posted shots of movies on set and how they looked IRL, and it was ridiculous. Everyone is just jumping on green rectangles with green sheets covering a wall, with men in green skintight suits following the actor around. Like what the fuck is the point anymore? I don't know it's at the stage now where nearly every movie does this, even not action / not horror movies. What the hell happened to set design? 
@thegreatape I try to watch more theater stuff, like classic theater, broadway, Shakespeare and stuff, everything is real and it boosts the actors, I know it would boost me, seeing a spooky thing or a frilly thing in front of you triggers something instinctive in your monkey brain which creates a response that can't be recreated by a tennis ball on a stick.
Yeah I miss insane practical effects and set design. A lot of my favorite movies are Wes Craven films for both the effects and his appreciation for the meta and over the top. New Nightmare and Wishmaster are just 
I love how 80s movies had the climax in the middle of the movie, not at the end, or they had a couple of them spaced out. Movies today are nothing but ramp, big climax, end. This old style makes the movie feel longer, in a good way, it's like getting multiple movies in one, with better character development. A modern example of this same thing would be the marvel infinity stones movie. That movie had multiple climaxes, and then a big final ending one. Still though not as endearing or memorable as older movies with less cgi and action.
