They're running simulations and I assume they're virtual but otherwise assumed they're real world, the guy clarifies they're virtual. The point is they're making it, they're working it out. And once that happens, get your paint, get your ropes, and get your mylar. Paint to blind the drones cameras. Rope to tangle the drones joints. Mylar to hide your ir sig from the drones.
