How much fucking money their marketing department has to spend?

@Chazcon @coolboymew
Immersive- ok
Amazing graphics- ok
Roleplaying game- HOLD THE FUCK UP!!!

There are many lies, but when they say in these ads, that it's an RPG, it always drives me loko...

@LukeAlmighty @Chazcon Is it not? Mobile RPGs are absolutely poor RPGs, but they are?
@coolboymew @LukeAlmighty
I must admit, I've only every played dominos on mobile. It seems like something as complex as an RPG would be hard to do right on a handheld.

On contrary, I think an RPG is the only hardcore game ganre that can be translated properly, since half of them do not require real time controls.

Exploring open world, debate with characters and fight in turn-based style? Why not. I know, this might not be the prime example of an RPG, but when I played Pokemon, it was perfectly playable on phone.

@LukeAlmighty @Chazcon Yeah, you're forgetting about pokemon and the many JRPGs on Game Boy, so yeah, RPGs can be done on an handhelds

It's just that mobile RPGs are usually poor "watch stat grows" simulator with even less of a story and gameplay than modern "half-assed" low budget JRPGs with menu world map like the Neptunia series. Here usually, the whole game is menus

The mobile RPG story mode is usually a completely unchallenging cinch, making it completely pointless to play at all, while the weekly events usually requires bullshit new pull of the week due to elements and such requirement to even get the super good event prizes

They also usually have abysmal pull rates, because the pulls are also mixed with equipable items that you're always disappointed to pull. Also you'll need multiple pulls of the same character to fully max it out, bullshit

In the end, the game ends up you putting it as auto play to do whatever daily task and doing the PvP just because you have to, which you usually fail hard against whales or manages to win in the quasi rock/paper/scissor mechanism, you just got lucky

I heavily disrecommend, if you gotta play a mobile game, play something that requires skills at the very least, like a rhythm game
@coolboymew @LukeAlmighty @Chazcon Mobile games are designed with monetization in mind, not fun. It's easy enough to make a fun and functional mobile JRPG, but when there's so many ways to bog them down with gachashit and the like it's no wonder why most devs go for that.

I see that you, too, are familiar with Azur Lane.
@Ricotta @Chazcon @LukeAlmighty Nope, never played Azur Lane, but Revue Starlight was just that and I assume they're pretty much all the same
@coolboymew @Chazcon @LukeAlmighty I stopped playing AL six months ago because it stopped being fun and started being a job that required more effort than my actual job.
@Ricotta @Chazcon @LukeAlmighty Love Live School Idol Festival All Stars is very weird. It's somewhat like a RPG, but it has much less of the mentioned pitfalls the other games has. Also respects your time. I can just use my skip tickets to do my daily shit and barely play more than 5 mins in a day and never seen any of the actual gameplay until I choose to
@coolboymew @Chazcon @LukeAlmighty IM@S:MLTD is the same way. The gacha isn't nearly as generous as the previous mobagis I've played, but it's also the only one I've stuck with long term because it's still a game and not a job.
@Ricotta @Chazcon @LukeAlmighty Oh, so it's a similar game huh? I mostly play it for the 3D songs and costumes

SIFAS is fairly generous with URs tho', a 5% rate, that's not so bad. Haven't had amazing lucks with the last two fest. Only 2 URs for 4-5 pulls? Jeez. I've had much better luck earlier
@coolboymew @Chazcon @LukeAlmighty Theater Days and its 346PRO counterpart Starlight Stage are both rhythm games.

SSR rate is usually like 0.25% per pull, but the cards don't really matter that much. They don't make you any better at the game.
@Ricotta @Chazcon @LukeAlmighty SIFAS's gameplay is actually a RPG disguised as a rhythm game, you really gotta build your team
