A centrist will say that the left is right in some things, and the right is right in some things; but he's the enlightened one for taking only the good parts of each.
But centrists today are leftist, in practise, considering most of the things they support are informed by years of leftists moving the Overton window towards their side.
And 70 years ago, a centrist was right wing, in practise, because the Overton window was leaning towards the right.
