Well, I am an atheist, so it is all jist fancy stories for me, but this one still makes more sense to me then the original one.

And I am sure there are people who do believe it.

@LukeAlmighty But it says that God made man "in His image". God wanted companions, not slaves. That's also why we were given the choice at all. Slaves would have just been forced to not eat it, like an animal.
It's to the point that, not only was it inevitable that the fruit would be eaten, but I am even willing to argue that God intended for us to do so, because without it, we could never become true companions.

I won't bother arguing against mockery, because, well, there's no point. As an argument tactic, mockery is basically a strawman.
I will admit I was itching to get into it though, because I have that habit of wanting to correct common misconceptions.
