Just update your OS and start using value based triangle...

@cowanon @lain_os @eris @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz @s8n @ew
Communism on the right of libertarianism...

Seems like you are looking at the world from absolutist world view. (auth right in the old system)

@cowanon @lain_os @eris @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz @s8n @ew
That is why I like the 3 values triangle. It tells you what is the primary political drive and how others do see the world based on their descriptions...

It is a multi-purpose tool, that allows some communication and understanding.

@cowanon @lain_os @eris @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz @s8n @ew
We do. that's a good start :blobcaticecream:

And this realy helped me to understand absolutists and what drives them.

Don't worry though, I still have no idea how can commies even breathe with such idiotic values...

@cowanon @lain_os @eris @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz @s8n @ew
Yeah, bad example on this one.

The point from what I've gathered for absolutists is to ensure a STABLE society, even if it means, that some freedoms/lives must be sacrificed.

@LukeAlmighty This is why I don't like ANY of these pigeonholing political/personality tests and so on. Call me a filthy centrist, but I'm always all over the map/spectrum, even depending on my mood at the time I can be more authoritarian or libertarian etc. @lain_os @eris @massiveracist @s8n @ew

@cowanon @lain_os @eris @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz @s8n @ew
Oh no... People have slightly different values based on mood.

This is the same argument as that races don't exist, because some people don't fit perfectly.

most tests are created by ideologs, who do not understand even most basic differences. I get it.

Not, the simple question is. What do you value the most:
equity
freedom
stable society

this simple question does help to inform most of peoples values. Obviously, there will be slight differences. But this question seems to cristalize the society the most.

@LukeAlmighty @lain_os @eris @massiveracist @s8n @ew > Oh no... People have slightly different values based on mood.
Yes? At least I do, except replace "slightly" with "vastly".

> Not, the simple question is. What do you value the most: equity, freedom, stable society
Depends on how I feel at that moment. But I don't see why we can't have all the above, if only just for certain situations and circumstances.

@cowanon @lain_os @eris @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz @s8n @ew
Ok, that is rare.
Most people who claim this are people who never truly thought about politics, but since you are here and participating in fediverse debates, it might be possible you are more centered then most.

who am I to judge... :blobcatdunno:

@LukeAlmighty @lain_os @eris @massiveracist @s8n @ew > Most people who claim this are people who never truly thought about politics
Me, more-or-less. I tend to think more about individual behavior and the consequences of individual interactions.

The human body is countless single-celled organisms all doing their own thing and mostly not giving one whit about what the others are up to despite always interacting, interconnecting, and being interdependent one way or the other.

Hell, each cell is its own megalopolis of decillions of creatures doing all the above, and each of those creatures are themselves decillions of even smaller things and processes.

Zoom out, and it's the same thing: humans doing their own thing in their own particular city and/or family/friend group etc. Zoom out again and now these groupings are interacting and interconnecting like living beings themselves. Zoom out some more, and.. are we at nations? The whole of Earth? This arm of the Milky Way? Virgo Supercluster? Is the Virgo Supercluster a living being interacting with other superclusters interacting with other superclusters over the span of billions of years?

I forgot where I was going with this, except "something something politics irrelevant blah blah".

@cowanon @lain_os @eris @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz @s8n @ew
I love this example.

Every cell in your body in individual yet interdependent. It can heal minor injuties, discriminate, but body is still working.

Now, let's make it political. Take a knife, and cut yourself. Most people cannot do it, because millions of nerves decided to not do the job brain tells them to do. That is a political proccess in a nutshell :ablobcool:

@LukeAlmighty Rebellion against authority! A necessity from time to time when said authority tries to destroy what it's supposed to protect and grow. @lain_os @eris @massiveracist @s8n @ew
