@lain renting a car? not sure why there is a difference. maybe just a statistical error but why? maybe p-hacking?
@khaosgrille might be that because of vaccination priorization most of the people who are vaccinated are "risk group" people so they have a legitimate reason to be more careful.
@lain @khaosgrille that and people who are willing to get the vaccine are more risk-averse generally speaking compared to people who vocally refuse it, which likely helps skew the numbers as well (for the record, I'm not comfortable with most public activities for the time being despite being fully vaccinated)

@allison @khaosgrille @lain
You're gonna have to slowly explain this one...

My lizzard brain cannot get over why risking biohazard chemicals, when I woudn't believe they make me safe from something worse.

@LukeAlmighty @khaosgrille @lain "risking biohazard chemicals" that's not really how it works, mRNA is just a shell for proteins the virus produces in isolation, your immune system attacks them producing antibodies for them, and then the actual virus is -much- less likely to have any kind of effect on you. It's like the McCarthy-era paranoia about "polio monkey serum"
