I cannot believe they sold us EU on promisse of free travel, and the same people who used this argument to me before do use it to defend covid-pass aswell.
So, the one organization that you wanted for that ONE reason is using it to blackmail you, and you don't see a problem?
@LukeAlmighty@gameliberty.clubI see more and more that Foucault was right about the concept of biopower. The whole EU is built on it. It is about trying to protect everybody from something that might happen - instead of high voltage wires saying "Do not touch!!!" and you take the responsibility for not doing it, so there's a triple guardrail around it and nobody actually knows there's any danger, they don't think about it anymore because they feel protected. As a result, the basal responsibility disappears, overall. People become children who constantly need someone to protect them, and politicians fit that role. Of course, children must also obey and not refuse, even when unreasonable demands come from parents or when it is obvious that a parent is lying... We're so protected that it's almost impossible to breathe. Unfortunately, if you say anything against it, you're the evil one who "wants to sacrifice people's lives".
..and one more thing. It's a trend that is above the EU (globalization is far from over). So even if people had said in the referendum in 2003 that they didn't want to be in the EU, they would want to get in more strongly now because they can't maintain a sense of sovereignty and weigh up the pros and cons in terms of their own responsibility. So I think that resistance is futile. Moreover I think it's a spirit of the times, a general tendency. One can call for some old normality, but this is stronger. Therefore, even the concept of states and nations will be dissolved. In the name of security, progress and (insert anything positive here). But it's still about the exercise of power. It's just done less visibly, less graspably, so people don't even protest. No, they won't protest. They think they want it.
