@yourhero If that "freedom of speech" falls within our Code of Conduct than yes! Otherwise no but that's a very simple equation don't you think? :mortyderp:

Respect is far more important than this "freedom of speech" since is just a bs reason to offend everyone you like :ablobwink:

If you have an opinion that can also be talked on a nice way

What a shame you do not see the value of free speech. This right that gives me some hope for humanity, and you're willing to kill that for a few insults? :blobastonished:

@LukeAlmighty

Haha I don't think you get me :blobcatgiggle:

You can have free speech BUT that can also be done with a humane way right?

No, I don't want false info nor bullying or people who only make it toxic :ablobwink:

If that's "free speech" than no, absolutely not.. Like I said: Respect is far more important..

@LukeAlmighty If one cannot even respect his fellow "interneter" what can we expect from such people?

I mean c'mon, thats the the thing everyone should be able to do.. If not i think you fail as hooman

@stux
And no. My respect is a privilege I am willing to take any day.

And I find it extremely entitled to expext respect from others. There is no higher appreciation from other men then their respect.

@LukeAlmighty So how do you engage in a conversation LOL?

You start our rough and hoping you get the 'respect you deserve" haha...

I mean c'mon.. All people are equal and should be thread equal.

@stux
Oh, I haven't posted this qote in a while: :ablobwhee:
“All men are not created equal. Some are born swifter of foot, some with greater beauty. Some are born into poverty and others born sick and feeble. Both in birth and in upbringing in sheer scope of ability every human is inherently different. Yes, that is why people discriminate against one another, which is why there is struggle, competition, and the unfaultering mark of progress. Inequality is not wrong, equality is.”

@anon00110 @stux
Only if you believe that your race determines any of the factors mentioned above. And even then, it makes the reality racist. The quote does not contain any value judgement.

@stux
Why would you expect others to give the HIGHEST evaluation of other human being to everyone? Where do you see the logic in that?

@LukeAlmighty That's YOUR interpretation...

I find it very sad that's something very "exclusive" with you apparently

@stux
Respect is a false god...
Throughout my life, there was nothing more valuabe then an honest rage. If you're willing to ignore important advice just because it was said emotionally, are you realy ready to improve?

@LukeAlmighty I've had this discussion soo often and no im not gonna change that :ablobwink:

People who dont like that are free to block me or leave this instance, it's very clear in our rules :cat_hug_triangle:

I stand with my point :cat_hug_triangle:

There is a reason i deleted my Facebook account and setup this Masto instance

@stux @LukeAlmighty the biggest problem with being "respectful" is it's a vague and subjective term. Anything can be disrespectful. Is criticising someone's religion disrespectful when that same religion is by its nature disrespectful to the person in question? Is refusing to use someone's preferred pronouns disrespectful? Is swearing casually at no one in particular automatically disrespectful to anyone that hears/sees it? Where is the line?

Freedom of speech rarely fits into a code even if discussed in "polite terms" - Youtube's terms of service now forbids suggesting the US election was fraudulent. Criticising your government, it seems, is irredeemably "disrespectful" too.
