There I hit a wall with batchelors paper.
I can be realy smart, and understand the topic well, and then I'm told to write 10 000 words.
I've barely ever been able to de-compress my thoughts to more them 200. 
@BillJohnson @LukeAlmighty @Bro-Drillard @TheMadPirate It’s why I liked my French teacher. He looked at you disapprovingly if you weren’t brief, this is in a language which can be rather lengthy.

@LukeAlmighty @Bro-Drillard @TheMadPirate @BillJohnson I got an A (top mark in US grading system, idk how it works in ČR) because I didn’t pad an extra 100 words with bullshit. I was analytical and incredibly detailed and grammatically correct. Prof’s words were (paraphrasing) “Thank you for not rambling or buffing [local term] your paper.”
Some say brevity is the soul of wit. Others just point out the better you understand some thing the less words you need to explain it. So universities wanting 10k word papers is hilarious to me!
