YouTube just keeps getting more and more aggressive with this. They _really_ don't want people to circumvent the age-gates. I don't get it. Why are they breaking youtube-dl over and over like this? This isn't a legal or reputation liability for them. People going out of their way to circumvent their measures isn't their responsibility. It's like they don't want people to even see these videos, but then why do they allow them on the site? It doesn't make any sense, and the only way I can make it make sense in my mind is they want to track people who watch age-gated content as like a type of honeypot.

EXPLAIN THIS BECAUSE IM GOING SCHIZO OVER IT.
@crunklord420 I don't know if it's that straightforward.

Maybe upper ups want to have as much content as possible to attract people and prevent user leakage, but they have pressure from the activist-employee and the advertisers about "muh extremist content" and enable such features to show them that they are doing everything they can to prevent anonymous toxicity and keep people accountable or some shit.

YT/Google/Alphabet is too big to act this simply imho.

That is what firing people is for... If your employees are costing you reputation of the entire company, you can do 2 things. Fire them, or confirm to entire world that they are acting with your blessing.
