When it comes to people who are working towards something, they love to run and tell everybody about the progress they're making. And half of em fizzle out and don't end up getting what they thought they'd get.

I like to make moves in silence and then pop out like "ayo look what I did".

I learned while working in IT that this is actually a way to make people more impressed with what you're doing because they'll assume it took you less time to do than it actually did.

I cannot say, that I see the same value as you do, but I get it.

BTW, while working on a btchelors degree, I got completely devastated by the need to "consult" my job with the teacher. The stress of comming to him and saying:"I did this" every few weeks only to see he's not impressed was devasting, and one of 3 reasons i got completelly burned out.

@LukeAlmighty I should probably add that I never initially did this with the goal of impressing people, but because I didn't wanna work on something, tell people, have it fail, and have to tell them that it failed. In retrospect just now I was processing and realizing that this was probably the reason why so many people I worked with/for were so impressed with my work

I also do this when it comes to me and relationships cuz people like to talk and I don't want other people's opinions to color the general perception of other people or a potential relationships nor do I want unwelcome pressure
