I am starting to get realy nervous about the steam deck. Although, in every single marketing material, they say it's a "linux PC", I have not seen a single frame of the OS. I have not seen the terminal, and I have not heard a single line confirming, there will be an easy access to non-steam applications. (unless the OS is changed. That option had been confirmed.)

@lewdthewides
That is actually the option I am afraid of.
I don't need yet another dumb console. If the Deck is going to be just another dumb console, then why even bother?

@LukeAlmighty don't see why that would be a deal-breaker. You're buying it for the hardware

@lewdthewides
No, I already have a Switch.
The avaiable software makes all the difference.
Switch can be an amazing peace of hardware, but software is so retarded, I cannot even play online.

Same goes for switch. Amazing hardware, but can I watch movies and browse the net?

@LukeAlmighty then go buy a gpd win if you want to do multimedia. Steam deck is a machine optimized for gayming

@lewdthewides
I was ready to do it, when they anounced the Steam deck.

And yes, it still is the best option out there, so if Deck fails, I will give it a try.
