Just took a look at Star citazen.

Who's idea was it to call this early access?

@nukie
Yes, but the point is, that I didn't want to give this game a look until it's in some playable state.

And all I saw were "10 years in EA" memes. These guys need to do a huge release event, and call it "perpetural expansion" or something. Because their reputation is seriously suffering from the lablel.

They said something about 4.0 or the next one being beta instead of alpha.
So it can only take several more years.

This is really brutal. I gave Star Citizen the benefit of the doubt for many years, even though I find the fact that they sold ships for ten-thousands of dollars abhorrent, but the length of development is out of this world.

According to Wikipedia, pre-production began in 2010 and it was expected to release in 2014. The game is now in for over a decade in development. And as of November 2021, it raised over $400 million.

If this game eventually fails, it will have huge repercussions.
