Valve is weird.
So far, the deck is performing flawlessly. It's ridiculously powerful and access to the Linux does give it the edge I hoped for.

So far, there is only one problem And it's kinda ridiculous...
Do you remember big picture? Did you think it was clunky? You have seen nothing yet. The deck UI kinda decides on its own, that it will ignore some inputs for 2 minutes, or even that it will freezes for 15 seconds entirely.

Now, this should be theoretically the easiest part of the entire project. The compatibility with games is better then I immagined, gyro controls allows me to play FPS games, there is an ability to customize the controls and power of the deck on the fly... and then the UI freezes while you're browsing your installed games? Total madness.

Yeah... also, 2 buttons feel kinda cheap. The "steam" and "..." buttons have no click, so you're not even sure if you've pressed them. They also are hard to feel, and that compounds on the problem.
