As of now, I call my family almost daily, so I can keep the connection at least somewhat existent.

that's good. Other than my nuclear family, my martial arts group is the second closest family I have. I go to my class at least twice a week.

Third closest is everyone who works at my local gun range.

lol I feel you. In my social circles I have people I can talk to about certain things, but I haven't hung out with anyone my age and just chilled in a long time. I moved away from all my friends. Plus I don't do drugs or drink anymore, so...

But now I'm too focused on work, martial arts, working out, etc., that I feel like "just chilling" would be a waste of my time.
