I don't normally like making calls like this because of the "I told you so" nature of it, but here's what I think will happen with Starfield when it comes out (and I really want to be wrong):
1. The game comes out and it's unfinished, and it could take somewhere between 3 months to a year for it to be in a more playable state.
2. The 1,000 planets, although some are designed with attention to detail, majority of the planets would be randomly generated or copy and pasted.
3. The AI will not be able to pathfind correctly, so bugs where NPC's get stuck or walk into a wall consistently will be common.
4. Spaceship travel will just be easily skipped with a fast travel upgrade/option.
5. A procedural generation system for missions where you have to *PERFORM TASK HERE* at *RANDOM LOCATION HERE* like in Skyrim (best example being thieves guild jobs).
6. The Creation Engine will still be garbage and the modding community will be heavily depended on by the company, although silently, for the game to generate sales.
7. DLC will be made, but in the same fashion as Fallout 4 where they will have a Season Pass after a few months so they can milk as much money from players who already finished the game in under a week of casual play.
I don't think I have any special insight whatsoever, this is judged entirely by the history of Bethesda's behavior in the past. So yeah, I'm hoping I'm wrong and Starfield will end up being good. Just no pre-orders, please...
