I'll make it worse: You know how most lithium battery degradation happens near the end of the charge cycle?
I'll bet they aren't implementing this by only charging it to 70-80%. I bet they're cutting it off at 20-30% charge remaining.
So you're getting NONE of the theoretical longevity benefit from the lesser range.
