I have a serious question. And please, do understand, that it's coming from someone who met only leftie-weakling Christians in his life.
The God in the old testament is a rough being who sijtes the unfaithful on many occasions.
The god in new testament is described as forgiving and many parts imply to be meek, (with a few exceptions).
Does it seem to you, that the God of the old testament is a different being from the new one? And what are your thoughts about it?
@LukeAlmighty @NEETzsche Jesus was a very gentle person during His time on the earth, but if you look at Jesus in the Revelation for the future given to John, you'll see he is no less fierce than God dealing with Egypt or Assyria in the OT.

Yes it has occurred to me. It is one of the core ideas in gnostic thought. Read the Wikipedia introduction on the subject of gnosticism and tell me if it's ringing any bells.
I still don't know what gnosticism is. Gonna read this and not learn
