I agree, that I used a wrong word. As @heavens_feel said, a drug mule is more accurate, but he's part of the drug distribution process. And that is what I wanted to point to.

That is why they like him and like his redemption arc.
It's Lucas and the studios that have been trying to retcon his image since the special edition. Actual Star Wars fans are under no illusions about what kind of person he is
