If IQ is just a made-up number, then what’s the best way to measure someone’s intelligence?

Or are you saying “it’s complicated” and that we shouldn’t try to do that? I could agree with that, in some sense. I don’t need a number to know that someone is either retarded or way smarter than me.

Sometimes I’m tricked by apparent confidence or humility, e.g. someone can seem smarter if they act confident (which is basically the entire basis of modern medicine), but eventually it becomes clear that they don’t actually know what they’re talking about.

It’s not possible to trick an IQ test with social confidence, though.

Also, don’t forget that IQ is generally a good predictor of success in life, for what that’s worth.

I love that you value my intelligence so much that you have highlighted the important sentence.
Im not saying we shouldnt do that, or that the IQ test are flawed - they do what they are supposed to, measure how good you are solving mazes and recognizing patterns
Im saying it is not intelligence, but an arbitrary test of certain skills and the whole idea, that you could simplify intelligence to certain number, to be set on a leader board is whole another type of disgusting.

Intelligence is not IQ and i just refuse to follow that belief, im not agreeing to subscribe to that it in terms of pop-culture.
It is a test, with a normal distribution of results, that measures how good you are at solving this arbitrary type of tests

Also, you cant cheat on IQ tests with your personality, but you can prepare for one and get better results.

Ok, let me explain it this way.
If you have booba, every conversation you have begins with goal of the opposite party to be as likable as possible.
If you don't have booba, this expectation is reversed.

So, there is no "social skill" actually needed on the side of the woman (relatively speaking) to get desired result.

It is as if you were comparing selling stuff to giving away money. The skill required to complete task is in a completelly different reality.

Except it's fake. It is measured by self report of how well can you maintain relationships. If EQ was real, and actually did exist in women as described, divorce courts would not exist.
