It's not "some" 9V batteries, that's how all 9V batteries are made. Ever wondered why rechargeable 9V batteries are actually 7.2V? 6 x 1.5V (alkaline cells) = 9V but 6 x 1.2V (Ni-Cd or Ni-MH) = 7.2V

And not just 9V, any battery that isn't a single cell is, well, mutiple cells lol. These 12V batteries from the previous post? 8 x 1.5V button cells. 12V car batteries? Guess what, 6 x 2V lead acid cell in series

Here are some nominal cell voltages, grab the nearest battery pack (pack, get it?) you can find and check it's nominal voltage, it should be divisible by one of them:
Zync carbon and alkaline (non rechargeable) -> 1.5V
Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh -> 1.2V
Lithium -> 3.7
Lead acid -> 2V
@shitpisscum @LukeAlmighty @clarjon1 I meant with cylindrical self-contained cells. I don't know if they're all like that or not. I do know that typical batteries are 1.5V so it would make sense that there's 6 to make a 9V

They are, LR61 cells or apparently in some cases the regular AAAA cells

@shitpisscum @LukeAlmighty @clarjon1 BTW, Life pro tip: since AA and AAA batteries are both 1.5V, you can use AAA in place of an AA by just sticking a piece of aluminum foil between the AAA battery and the terminal of the device.
