I wish I had kept better track of the stuff I hear from people. I sometimes half-remember facts and stories but can’t recall where/who they came from, to the point I have to wonder how true they are. I was thinking about @mushroom talking about finding a guy on poast and I recalled a celeb-adjacent guy telling me that {celebrity} actually went out with a guy who hit her up from something online. Like, she saw his profile and thought he looked hot, and he basically said “hit me up the next time you’re in town” and they went out (no sex).
Just seems like crazier things have happened than people meeting on a shitposting site.

I meant it in the wider sense.
My brother is 3 times as smart as I am, yet I earn double of what he does.
Because, I chose a company and a position that pays well, and I applied several times. When I failed first time, I even asked for feedback, and they outright fucking told me exactly, what qualities disqualified me ffs.
So, 2nd time I was ready, and I got the job.
Sometimes, the ability to ask for what you want is all you need.
Other time, I got for a friend a marketing merch. It was one of the standing cutouts.
He wanted them, so I got them. But I was seriously surprised, when shop owner was happy to get rid of them. Because they would be thrown away anyway.
@LukeAlmighty @merchantHelios Yeah It’s actually pretty funny how many guys would jump at it if you sat there and said “man….I wish I could fly one of these”. All you have to do is ask and be excited and they’ll take you up for a 40 minute spin, especially if it’s a company plane. People love helping out kindred spirits.
@LukeAlmighty @merchantHelios It wasn’t her, but yeah, they’re people too and there are very few chances to meet new people who aren’t service staff when you run in those circles. It’s not crazy for her to randomly see some dude’s FB profile and find him hot. Asking really CAN get you way, way more than you think, and when you consider that 90% of normal people will say “ah no way” it makes the confident chad dude stand out more.
I need to catch up with those guys though. They have a lot of fun stories working charters, there’s all this hollywood drama that goes on behind the scenes when you deal with them, it’s like daycare
