@LukeAlmighty I don't understand the hype around Steam Decks. Don't you have a gaming PC?

@Jens_Rasmussen
I do.
And I have a family, that lives in another city.

And sometimes, I feel like playing from bed.

So, if you don't get the appeal, I get it, but when it comes to hendheld gamind, deck is a league above anything else.

@LukeAlmighty Most PC games aren't even that good to play without a mouse+keyboard.
Mostly console ports/multiplat games will feel good to play on the deck. Which I guess is justification enough to buy one for some people, but I just can't relate.
@Jens_Rasmussen @LukeAlmighty I still have a steam link which I purchased for $5 when they had a firesale on the thing.

I tried it out for a little why, games worked fine (it's streaming from your computer to the steam link.. via ethernet cable directly.. so yeah very little latency).

I tried playing FO:NV on it, which worked fine but it was a pain in the ass to get up and go to my PC to restart the game when it, uh, crashed lol.

I guess steam deck is an evolution of that, you can take it elsewhere in the house and hook it up to whereever rather than having to set it up in one spot, like near a big TV.

@lichelordgodfrey @Jens_Rasmussen
I don't see the connection, since the link was kind of a thing on it's own... but I own one too :D

Yes, but that is the same as connecting switch.

It's a different device.

@LukeAlmighty @Jens_Rasmussen sure but what I mean is.. the steam deck does what the steam link does, plus more, and it's less cumbersome.
