We've reached a point, where I am just outright afraid to buy games.

Because, there is no way to know, what kind of monetization will it have.

I have postponed buying Monster hunter for Years, because it looksed like some kind of truly predatory MMO (the name "world" implied that seriously...), even though, the game is actually a full product.

@LukeAlmighty it's not that hard to find a games current monetization. what you can never know is when china will buy it and change it (Conan exiles)

@icedquinn
Is it not hard though?
I cannot figure it out with some of them.

When I look at Forza 4 for example, I have no idea what kind of a game I am getting before they ask me for my credit card. (considering the ammount of DLCs.)

Lego games are even funnier. I have installed the "DC super villains" from a brothers library, and a DLC had literally ruined the game. (It included characters with abilities, that I seriously shouldn't have had access to.)

@LukeAlmighty yeah DLC content is typically high level because they want you to buy it and they just dump it at you. Saints Row had some stupid DLC like that where you do a short quest and get ridiculous vampire powers.

Some games you can turn it off or never buy the DLC or something. I haven't paid tynan tax this time cause I really just don't care I didn't get 30$ of fun out of ideology and I'm going to play something else this month
