I just discovered, that https://mastodon.social has a new way of subscribing. It now shows a popup where you need to copy the account link and then you have to go to your instance and paste the link to the search bar. It seems to me as a step back in a comfort.

@LukeAlmighty yep. As I a have my own instance and as Mastodon is not backfilling posts I usually have to look to the user's instance to decide whether I want to subscribe or not. I am used to subscribe when I am there.
