Here's one absolute truth I know about the fedi.
Bigots have more support and acceptance than progressive, and forward-thinking people do. There is a reason so many Black and Brown instances have come and gone, but the domains on many blocklists are so consistent.
No technology on Earth can fill that gap.
With so many new people coming in, the fedi is at a crossroads and needs to decide what kind of culture it wants.
Either it's going to be a space where bigots feel comfortable, or it's going to be a place that actively supports new and fresh ideas where people from any background can come and find community.
It cannot be both.

The entire point of the #fediverse is exactly that - you CAN have both. Bigots will always exist and they will find themselves banned where they are the minority, and then they will gravitate to servers (#instances) where they are a majority, and then bigot-minority servers will #fediban those bigot-majority servers. This is an elegant design that moots any debate about censorship.
@Are0h as #mastodon founder @Gargron has explained in his convo with journalist @adamdavidson regarding a similar concern, the #fediverse was designed so that any community can create a safe space of their own by simply starting their own server. This preserves interaction with the broader #fediverse while also allowing finer-grained control via #fediban over malicious actors and toxic adversaries
I think you will find having your own #instance will massively amplify your power over the bigots
@azizhp@mastodon.social You just named two white men who do not experience the level of targeting people like me get on a regular basis. As such, they are designing systems that work for them.
And I've had conversations with Eugen about specific safety issues and he has absolutely refused to deviate from his vision of what he thinks safety is, even as Black and Brown people are consistently pushed out of the fedi.
Lastly, because your arrogance refuses to just ask simple questions, I was an instance admin for a number of years, so I know firsthand at how ineffective it is in terms of safety.
You are simply out of your depth here.
