So like a decade ago square made a spinoff game called Dissidia that had an insane plot that excused the main heroes and villains from appearing in the same game which normally makes no sense at all. Leading to a good prequel game, a shitty arcade sequel, a couple gacha games, culminating in Stranger of Paradise. Which is a sort-of retelling of FF1 but all that insane Dissidia shit matters for reasons I don't have time to explain
