Very good point about worshipping fake stuff, but you miss the point that the ultimate goal is to completely replace actors and locations with CGI. Future generations will think human actors are lame. Everyone will prefer the CGI fiction. And filmmakers will be free to do whatever they want. No bad or "difficult" actors, no actresses high on drugs refusing to come out of their trailers, no prohibitively expensive locations. No human extras too.
