To be fair, 80 percent of jobs would not exist right now, if knowledge of robotics was more spread.
@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior Robotics was always a matter of economics. Sure, McDonalds could deploy french fry-making robots, but they don't because humans are cheaper. AI is different, though, because it can do a lot of what is being classified as "knowledge work" and do it FOR FREE. In countries like the USA where manufacturing and resource extraction has long been abandoned in favor of a "service economy", that's going to lead to massive society-crippling unemployment.

@RupertvonRipp @ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty People are panicking because there isn't one. The future is a teeming mass of unemployable humans constantly at war with the .01% of the population that owns the robots and the police. We should have listened to Uncle Ted.
@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior Robots increase the status and IQ requirements of the economy which just makes the lower classes even more disenfranchised than they already are
