I am so tired of hearing the "mouse utopia".
It was one experiment with so many variables, that we have no fucking idea what happened to the mouse culture.

Even the fact, that it was a freaking mouse culture means we cannot just extrapolate it to our way of life.

People are taking this single case example, and treating it like a fucking law for some fucking reason. That is insanity.

@LukeAlmighty Macro experiment: University utopia
University students have all the resources they need to survive easily available to them. They can spend their days studying a field that they have an interest in, and otherwise entertaining themselves.
Yet the result of this "pampering" is that they do not have children and often end up spending their time on grooming themselves and being homosexuals.

University is the exact opposite of mouse utopia. You have propaganda every day, and a lot of work, although directed at worthless cause.

The problem with university is that it is an obligation, that women prefer over obligation towards their family.

@LukeAlmighty I was half-joking. Going to school is - or at least should be - not too dissimilar from having a job in terms of the workload and stressfulness. Personally my workload and stress got even lower when I finished my education.

The idea of the "utopia" experiment is that if you no longer have to put in an effort to survive then all sorts of life-affirming behavior seemingly goes out the window as well.

@Jens_Rasmussen
I know...
I am just saying, that I do not believe the mouse utopia experiment is proof of that concept, or even more importantly, that it could ever be applied to humans, who are capable of doing surrogate activities.

@LukeAlmighty Working in an office is arguably a surrogate activity for being a hunter-gatherer, but I know what you mean.
