At least in TLOU 2, the accessibility is optional.
But while it might be funny to see the entire game in primary colors only, most games had been using this bullshit as a necessery feature for the last 10 years.

Also, one it was so refreshing to play LA Noire, and actually LOOK at the environment.
It is quite beautiful, once there isn't an icon/outline around every interactive object.
