The entire time I was over there I wished I was back home. Once I came home I started to wish I was back over there. It isn't about wanting to be in the military, I hate what the military has become and who it serves. It is about how the country I came home to was not the one I left, and how at least when I was over there, there was some semblance of rules, order, and comradery. The America of 2023 is so different than the America of 2000 that if you showed someone from 2000 the 2023 news cycle without two decades of being a frog in the pot they would go mad from despair.
