“IDK why Reddit was ever popular”

Because it was a one-stop site for all these niche interests, where you could make a small digest of all the new happenings for all your bizarre hobbies. Like to build your own mac, work on your miata, and collect vintage typewriters? Well you could make a newswire with all of that, PLUS a cornucopia of hyperniche pornography.

Like a certain type of (often ugly) weird body features? Like giant, unsightly torpedo tits or inhuman-looking nipples? Like girls with snaggletooth or the the look of their hips through a backlit dress? Reddit had that too.

Once it got into the top 3 websites for western countries, the trap was sprung. It became a powerful false consensus tool to make solitary, lonely people believe a huge army of like-minded libshits were behind the screen buying into the exact same things they did.

Before, you could write "robotics" into search bar, got a sub, and ask about how to make your first robot.

Now, you find a sub, get told you don't have enough carma, farm for 6 months, ask, get post auto-removed for using the word "electronics" in title, re-write question, and get banned from sub for a low effort posting.
