The GPU market should revert to the old mentality. We don't want super expensive GPUs with 4000 features, most of which only 10% of the users really use, like 4K or raytracing or stuff like that. Look at the 2023 steam survey. Most people is running old cards like the 1650, 1060 or even the 2060. You have to go a bit low to see a 4070, and that's not even top of the line.
As for the video resolution, most people still plays at 1080p. Only a 15% plays at 2k or higher.
Nobody cares about raytracing or 4k, and I think these companies did not get the memo and tried to push way overexpensive hardware into the market. Of course it flopped.

I wouldn't say that noone cares about rey-tracing. It's amazing technology, and AI in games might bring a much more.
But it's fucking expensive.
Somehow, we reached a point, where game devs are afraid to release to next gen. Console companies cannot release a 4th gen in row with all games still covered etc...
And it's been taking so long, that even handhelds are catching up to full consoles.
@enigmatico
Yeah... I have been looking at a VR glasses for several years, saying.....
But skyrim....
But 35k CZK.
But War Thunder...
But 35k CZK
But VR Chat.... Or Mirrors edge
But 35k CZK....
