Why do people use Duolingo when even the people who made it admit that it doesn't teach you a foreign language? Just play progress quest or something if you want to see numbers go up slowly.

People use it, because language is the hardest shit to learn. Especially the step 0.

My mom spent last 25 years trying to learn English. In her case, she did acquire quite a vocabulary, but refused to do the "immersion" step no matter how much I tried to tell her.
