The argument that "electric cars are the way of the future because they will only be affordable by the elites" is total bullshit once you factor in that basically any EV is a ticking time bomb before it starts spewing toxic gas and then lighting on fire, totally ruining it beyond any ability to repair the damage. EV's aren't some megalomaniacal super plan to make us all take greyhound buses, they're a self masturbatory tech fad, like crypto, the metaverse, and now generative AI, only unlike at least the former 2, Electric Cars still haven't had their full time in the sun yet, they're still toys for rich assholes. Once they start to become any more synonymous, the writing will more than be on the wall, caked on in the scorched remains of their lithium ion batteries.

I kinda disagree, Phone batteries also had a bomberman phase, but seem to be mostly OK now.
But the main problem with electric cars is, that they are literally a smoke and mirrors solution.
They work on electricity, that has to Be
1) generated 2) Stored 3) Released
While normal cars to generation and release in a single step, making them more eco-friendly.
