You have to separate the "bad news" and nihilism.
I often see older people get incredibly angry at me for being nihilistic, when I say "depressing" facts. But that doesn't mean, these facts make me depressed.
i've witnessed a lot of disappointments. like protestors who have no real strategy and just surrender as soon as cops show up. like nobody actually has the attention or will to hold the line.
