@SpurgAnon Captain Kirk always was, unfairly, seen as a man-whore by Trek fans. Riker actually was a man-whore. Oh, and the alien in the meme was from a non-binary species and the actor wanted that love interest to be played by a dude.
@LoliHat yup, hilariously the episode is now inverted in current year and helps further illustrate how decadent and useless the UFP had become.
@SpurgAnon

The Federation was always portrayed as some type of utopia. One of the reasons why Deep Space 9 was my favorite Trek series is that they showed that "utopia" could only exist when you had Glowies going so far as to commit genocide to keep it that way... and even then there were plenty of people in the Federation who wanted out (*e*.*g*. the Marquis) and openly called out the Federation's hypocrisy and one galaxy government mindset.
@LoliHat @SpurgAnon that's a good scene and makes me want to watch it i only saw the star trek movies years ago and they went woke so i dunno if it's worth getting invested onto the series to see what it's become now

Which Star Trek movies? The Abrams reboots were the start of Star Trek going to hell.

I would recommend the original series, the animated series from the '70s, The Next Generation (though the first two years were hit and miss), all of Deep Space Nine, Voyager (despite episodes like the infamous "salamander babies" one), and Enterprise.

The last season of Enterprise is actually one of the best solid seasons of any Trek series. If you exclude the first one or two episodes which were needed to clean up the mess that the previous show-runners made and the infamous last episode, it's flawless.

Of the movies, I'd recommend only the first movie "The Motion Picture" (which is a visual feast for the eyes), the second movie "Wrath of Khan" (which is awesome), the third movie "The Search for Spock" (sad, sad movie), and the sixth movie "The Undiscovered Country".

The fourth movie was about stupid whales, the fifth should only be watched if you can find the fan made homage to MST3K of the movie ("rocks! rocks! rocks! rocks!"). Everything after that was subpar at best.

I seriously don't get the hate Enterprise gets. It is literally the best show Star Trek has.

@LukeAlmighty @LoliHat @rainignterror1080p Enterprise was great, just wish they harped on the temporal cold war and that the timeline had been fucked by the borg more
