I’m actually dead serious about zoomers being right to refuse to work. Imagine if zoomers today unironically demanded 1955 American lifestyle. I can’t speak for the Czech Republic, but just imagine an American zoomer saying any of these things without apology:
“I will live with my parents and flip burgers this summer to pay for my college tuition.”
“I’m a 20yo welder. This means I should be buying a freshly-built house on a 10yr mortgage where the monthly payment is 25% of my takehome and a car fresh off the assembly line, no debt.”
“I have a bachelor’s degree in some humanities bullshit like literature. That means I’m ‘educated’ and everybody will treat me like I have a galaxy brain, and I will get paid like it. I’ll be on my third house by 30.”
“If I flake out on my debts, I will be getting a mortgage in 2yrs anyway.”
It would be castigated as extremely “entitled,” yet to anybody born in the 1945 to 1965 range, it was completely real. All of it.
