If you think one person can carry a game of League...

Think again.

It doesn't matter how well you do. Your team can *always* drag you down.

@LukeAlmighty and then people tell me I don't truly care about Ekko because I don't win 100% of my games

@r000t
This is why I don't play PVP anymore. I seriously hate the entire concept of ranked play, since it forces an average W/L no matter how good you are.

@LukeAlmighty @r000t what I don't like about the systems is that they fail to pair you with people roughly on your skill level. They consistently pair me with some noob to stomp, or I'm the noob getting stomped

@NEETzsche @r000t
Well, the probelm for me is, that I don't feel the progress.

I don't mind getting stomped 200 rounds in a row, if I can follow that by 200 rounds of stomping. That is progress.

Higher "rank" is not a progress though. You are still a 50% win lame.

@LukeAlmighty @r000t I want the games to feel like they're close. That if one small decision was made differently, the outcome would have flipped. If I'm dramatically outclassing someone or getting outclassed, I lose interest in the details, and the outcome seems automatic, whether it's in my favor or not.

@NEETzsche @LukeAlmighty On the flip side, if I'm dramatically outclassing someone, they shouldn't be able to win the game because the outcome isn't actually skill-dependent.

btw if y'all play League why don't you play it w/ me?

@r000t @LukeAlmighty I don't play League, not really. I play Twitch, poorly, and only on occasion. I was discussing modern vidya ranking systems broadly.

I've gotten into MTGA recently

@r000t @NEETzsche
I asked you before, but you said, that you don't feel like having a casual noob teammate ;D

@NEETzsche @LukeAlmighty Another thing I can't fucking stand is the surrender system.

There should be absolutely no reason why two people can trap me in a game for 45+ minutes when it was very clearly lost at 10.

3 vote surrender should be allowed at 10 minutes and the system should snitch out whoever voted no. Continually voting no for games that turn out to be losses should result in irrevocable account termination.
