The success and effectiveness of the Sweet Baby Steam Blacklist is incontrovertible proof that Boycotts WORK. So why did the vast majority of e-celebs oppose boycotts of and blacklists for SJW games during the first #GamerGate? There were a few reasons thrown around, all of them bad and dumb, but the most memorable one was that it would be ILLEGAL for GG to advocate for boycotts, or more specifically, that the (very few) game devs who supported GG would get in trouble with the law if they were caught advocating for boycotts of games made by their competitors.

Even beyond the fact that I've yet to see someone be held legally responsible for everything posted under a hashtag he may have used once or twice, this whole idea that game devs are forbidden from advocating for boycotts and blacklists would come as news to all the SJW indie devs regularly doing that shit for the past 10 years...

How the fuck could we have allowed shills and controlled opposition to cripple us THIS badly?

Why are you surprised, that people who were raised to ALWAYS put the best foot forward and give a chance to known bad actors tried to solve a conflict with the least amount of force possible?

Some people truly thought, that this entire issue was a misunderstanding, and that we were talking to good people at heart. That is no longer a case, and now after 10+ years, we know that it's time to use a sword the only way that makes sense. To strike once and without hesitation.
